"Between the World and Me"

"Between the World and Me" is a 2015 book written by Ta-Nehisi Coates. It is written as a letter to the author's teenage son about the feelings, symbolism, and realities associated with being Black in AmeriKKKa...oops I meant America!

We will begin our first book on September 1, 2018. This will give everyone time to purchase the book and become familiar with the site. The book is $12.32 on Amazon and contains 152 pages and 3 "chapters." I've provided a weekly schedule below for everyone to ATTEMPT to follow.

The book is broken into 3 parts: Part I; Part II; and Part 3. Part 1 includes pages 1 through 71 (71 pages). Part 2 includes pages 73 to 132 (59 pages). Part 3 includes pages 133 to 152 (19 pages). The book breaks up perfectly into 38 pages per week.

Week 1 (Sept. 3): Pages 1-38 (Part I begins)

Week 2 (Sept. 10): Pages 38- 76 (Part II begins)

Week 3 (Sept. 17): Pages 76-112

Week 4 (Sept. 24): Pages 112-152 (Part III begins)

Friday, September 28: Zoom meeting from 7pm-7:40pm EST (Zoom has placed a cap of 40 mins on each session). Click the Zoom link under "Join Us on Zoom." Come prepared to ask and answer questions and discuss your thoughts about the book of the month!

The plan is to finish one book a month, however, the schedule may adjust when necessary.
