Months of February and March
"Just Mercy"
"Just Mercy" is a 2015 book written by Bryan Stevenson, the executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative in Montgomery, Alabama, and a professor of law at New York University Law School. "Just Mercy" follows the story line of Walter McMillian, a black man who was falsely convicted of murder and placed on death row. Through an investigation and appeals process, the testimony against McMillian was ruled false and was determined to be wrongfully obtained through police coercion and perjury. As a result, McMillan's sentence was overturned and he was cleared of all charges.
