"White Fragility"

"White Fragility" is a 2018 book written by Robin DiAngelo.

According to the author, when white people are confronted with the topic of racism they often respond defensively.

These moves include the outward display of emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt, and behaviors such as argumentation, silence, and leaving the stress-inducing situation. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium.

The author refers to this perceived response as "white fragility", and argues that the only way to address racism is to proactively challenge white people, especially those allegedly exhibiting these responses.
